Gli harragas di Annaba

Nel 2007 oltre 1.600 persone sono sbarcati sulle coste della Sardegna. Quasi tutti provenivano dalla stessa spiaggia algerina di Annaba. Una nuova rotta, che ha già fatto almeno 70 vittime, tanto che ad Annaba esiste anche un’associazione di genitori senza più notizie dei propri figli partiti. "Un mondo a colori" è andato in Algeria per conoscere le loro storie, le loro aspettative, la musica che racconta i viaggi della speranza dei giovani "harraga", che, in arabo, significa colui che brucia. Diritto d'asilo?

Un’inchiesta frutto di un viaggio che parte dai campi profughi di Patrasso, in Grecia, attraversa il mare Adriatico e si dirama poi nelle città di Venezia, Torino e Milano, dove differenti sono le possibilità di inserimento e di gestione dei richiedenti asilo. Uomini e donne, vecchi e ragazzi che fuggono viaggiando attraverso l’Iran, la Turchia fino alle coste greche, dove vengono fermati, identificati e quindi spesso respinti. La Grecia infatti accetta solo lo 0,2% delle richieste di asilo. Per chi non si arrende, allora, inizia il nuovo viaggio della speranza dentro o sotto un camion diretto in Italia, attraverso la “frontiera dell’Adriatico”, per essere poi spesso intercettato nei porti nostrani e rispedito indietro, con la speranza di poter riprovare ancora, diventando così dei “richiedenti in orbita”, sospesi in un limbo di terra e acqua. A sud de Lampedusa

Réalisé par Andrea Segre dans le désert du Sahara, au Niger, dans le mois de Mai 2006, avec la collaboration de Stefano Liberti et Ferruccio Pastore. "A Sud di Lampedusa" document les difficultés des voyages dans le désert et recueilli les témoignages des migrants saisonniers arrêtés en Libye et abandonnés à la frontière nigérienne. Attrapés durant les rafles de la police libyens et détenus en conditions dégradantes avant d’être déportés. Un des interviewés dit avoir été condamné aux travaux forcés, lors de sa détention à Sebha, pour bâtir le nouveau commissariat.

ROME – At least 36 migrants and refugees have died along the European borders during the month of February: 24 victims off the Moroccan coast, two in Spain, one in Ceuta and six in Algeria on the way to Sardinia. In Egypt, the police shot dead three asylum seekers who were trying to slip across the Sinai border into Israel. On the political level, Libya signed an agreement with Malta after that one with Italy. And also the EU opened negotiation with Tripoli for a framework agreement, while nobody says a word over the deportation of 200 Eritrean refugees repatriated from the Libyan prison of Kufrah. Meanwhile migrants repression goes on at the gates of Europe. At the south, in Algeria, a French priest and an Algerian doctor were arrested after they helped undocumented migrants in the slums of Maghnia. At the east, the readmission agreement between EU and Ukraine came into force, while the first EU collective deportation flight took off from Paris, towards Pakistan.

Οι πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες που έχασαν τη ζωή τους στα ευρωπαϊκά σύνορα το Φεβρουάριο του 2008 ήταν τριανταέξι: Εικοσιτέσσερα θύματα στα ανοιχτά του Μαρόκου, δύο στην Ισπανία, ένας στην Ceuta και έξι στο μακρύ δρόμο από την Αλγερία στη Σαρδηνία. Στην Αίγυπτο τρεις αιτούντες άσυλο δολοφονήθηκαν από τη συνοριακή αστυνομία στο όρος Σινά. Η Λιβύη υπέγραψε μια συμφωνία με τη Μάλτα, ως συνέχειας της αντίστοιχης με την Ιταλία και προχωρά σε διαβουλεύσεις με την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, ενώ υπάρχει μεγάλη ανησυχία για τη ζωή 200 προσφύγων από την Ερυθραία που απελάθηκαν μέσα στο Φεβρουάριο. Στην Αλγερία ένας γάλλος παπάς κι ένας αλγερινός γιατρός συνελήφθησαν επειδή βοηθούσαν μετανάστες στη Maghia. Στο μεταξύ από τη Γαλλία ξεκίνησε η πρώτη μαζική απέλαση προς το Πακιστάν και οι Βρυξέλλες θέτουν σε ισχύ τη συμφωνία επαναπροώθησης μεταξύ Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και Ουκρανίας.

ROMA – Sono 36 i migranti e rifugiati morti lungo le frontiere europee nel mese di febbraio: 24 vittime al largo delle coste marocchine, due in Spagna, uno a Ceuta e sei in Algeria lungo le rotte per la Sardegna. In Egitto si torna a sparare: tre richiedenti asilo ammazzati dalla polizia di frontiera sul Sinai. La Libia firma un accordo con Malta, dopo quello con l’Italia, e apre al negoziato con l’Ue per un accordo quadro, mentre è allarme per i 200 rifugiati eritrei rimpatriati da Kufrah. In Algeria finiscono in manette un prete francese e un medico algerino mentre assistevano dei migranti nelle baracche di Maghnia. Intanto dalla Francia parte il primo rimpatrio collettivo verso il Pakistan e Bruxelles dà il via libera all’entrata in vigore dell’accordo di riammissione tra Ue ed Ucraina.

En Egypte on tire à nouveau: trois demandeurs d’asile ont été tués par la police des frontières au Sinaï. La Libye signe un accord avec Malte, après celui avec l’Italie, et ouvre des négociations avec l’UE en vue d’un accord cadre, alors que la situation est alarmante pour les 200 réfugiés érythréens rapatriés depuis Kufrah. En Algérie, un prêtre français et un médecin algérien ont été arrêtés alors qu’ils assistaient des migrants dans les baraquements de Maghnia. Pendant ce temps, part de France le premier rapatriement collectif pour le Pakistan et Bruxelles donne le feu vert à l’entrée vigueur de l’accord de réadmission entre l’UE et l’Ukraine.
